So Far (It's Alright) - The 1975

This song always just makes me so happy. Something about the piano just makes me think it's a children's song. Once you see listen to the lyrics though, you would maybe rate this PG-13. The 1975 always has such a human meaning to their song. How some people just won't change but also the darker side to some people but always their imperfections. But he sings about loving imperfections but without whining and crying like that Sam Smith guy who I feel like has been abused by previous girlfriends. Also, about all these rumors about Matty Healy dating Taylor Swift, I don't think that's happening because Matty seems to be in a very happy relationship with his drummer, George Daniel. Not even Taylor Swift could break them apart. So his name is  probably not going in Taylor's Blank Space.

Cecilia and the Satellite - Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

This is an absolutely beautiful song. The lyrics are still beautiful when you don't know what it's about but he is singing to his daughter, Cecilia. It's a heart warming and protective song. The music video was just released on Friday. It has the perfect combination of his natural artistic view in the wilderness and some footage of him with Cecilia. I wonder if the woman in the video is supposed to be a grown up version of Cecilia. It is a beautiful music video and definitely worth the watch.

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness Concert Review

Place: 9:30 Club in Washington DC

When: November 15

Andrew McMahon knows how to make the piano rock! While his instrument of choice may suggest a seat, he most certainly does not always keep to its suggestion. He gets so excited when he is singing his songs that he commonly hops out of his seat in an awkward standing position but he is so caught in the moment and everyone else is too. He plays most of his new songs but also plays a few old ones from his previous bands such as Dark Blue. His set list is so extremely long that he may or may not play every song he's ever written (probably not). He also told a funny story (at least at my show) of how he and the rest of the band members had already decided that they were going to play an encore whether the crowd wanted it or not. Of course the crowd wanted it. They left the stage to pretend their set was over but the crowd pleaded for them to come back and they held up their end of the promise. It felt like going to two concerts in one. Also, around this part of the night, there may be some troublesome drunks by now. I know that a lot of Andrew McMahon's lyrics are touching or deep, but that does not give you permission to grind on any stranger next to you. That goes for anyone at any concert, if the person elbowed you in the ribs, that is not the cue for you to continue grinding.

Tell Me Anything - Air Life

This song may be different from the others I usually feature with its more jazzy sound, but it may be the chill pill that some of us need. The lyrics are sweet and calming. The music video kind of looks like their supply list included a green screen, fan and their voices. Although it may not look impressive, the song is still pretty neat and pleasant to hear.

Texas - Magic Man

Texas is just an amazing song from an amazing band. I love the intro with the hard to hear voice saying that you're going on an adventure but to just dance. Their sound is pure fun with a taste of electro sounds. Alex Caplow has an amazing singing voice and writes songs that just capture the essence of fun. Honestly, the music video is boring to me although I love the actress in it, Abigail Breslin.

EP of the Week - Behavior EP - Rubbing Alcohol

EP of the Week is the Behavior EP by Rubbing Alcohol. Rubbing Alcohol is so new and unique. They keep a steady beat in their thrilling songs. Their guitar is powerful and at some times, hypnotic. I admire their song titles being in caps lock just because that is their thing. It makes their songs stand out and make you feel like their lyrics have more to say and they demand for you to listen. I suggest their song KINKS, CRACK MY BONES and TRAVEL CHANNELS. As far as I know, their music is only available on Bandcamp and they allow you to name their own price so snag EP while you can!

Band of the Week - Death Cab For Cutie

Band of the Week this week is Death Cab for Cuties. This is one hell of a band. Although they've changed members a few times, this band has still been around for 17 years! That's a long time for a band! These guys are titans. They've created their own sound and musical styling that have been around so lone, it seems that some other bands have looked to them for inspiration. I suggest their songs I Will Possess Your Heart, Transatlanticism, and Soul Meets Body.
