Doses and Mimosas - Cherub

Doses and Mimosas has the sort of sound that at first makes you question what exactly you hit play on, unless techno is your thing, but the song is extremely catchy with a base that is to die for on the dance floor. When Cherub was interviewed about the song, Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber said that it was written during a time where one of the members was angry and destructive, doing things such as "pouring bleach on friends' carpets". I can understand being mad but what did those carpets do to you? And if I was one of his friends that he did this to, the police would find him hanging upside down from a clothes line by the seven toes I left him with. But this guy has a point, f*** all those people! And that's exactly the mentality you should have cause those people suck! The music video may be an accurate depiction of what happens when one consumes too many doses and mimosas... There is an official music video on Vevo on Youtube but it called for Parental Advisory and I don't think I could even not feel weird about posting that. You're either going to have to wonder about what it looks like forever or just go on Youtube and check it out for yourself. The guys do seem to have a good sense of humor with their video, I just didn't think all the nudity would be appropriate to share.

Ocean - Coasts

I only heard this song a couple days ago but I'm already stuck to it. The lyrics are very poetic but mostly sums up to that clear verse, they fell in love by the ocean. That clear percussion seems to make the song. Their vocalist has a steady voice that matches his beachy song and the feeling it gives. I know it may be fall but I'm going to still pretend its summer anyway. So no complaints! Just enjoy the song!

Runaway - sELF

With some songs, you can tell its a good one in less than a second. This is one of them. It starts with an awesome techno sound that died down and carries more of an undertone for the rest of the song. Matt Mahaffey, the singer is clear and distinct which seems to be almost a rare thing with some of these songs like this. There are some nice lyrics. Stop trying to run away from your problems, people. Easier said than done though, as most things in life are. The music video is absolutely fantastic! I love the cats doing everything! My favorite may be the cat playing the drums! But don't worry! No cats were harmed in the making of this video!

Little Numbers - BOY

This song is adorable. It's adorable and also relatable to those people out there who actually have souls yet do not have a boyfriend, girlfriend, bae, etc.... But i think her voice is sweet and it sounds a bit classic with the tambourine in the background. There's also an acoustic version as well! It is not that much different but it does sound even more adorable if that's your thing! The music video is swell because it's just the girls running around and having a good time.

(Everything Is) Debatable - Hellogoodbye

This chorus is absolutely amazing! I only heard this song the other night by chance but I loved it within the first second! I love the lyrics and the singer sounds great even though it is not the easiest to understand but the almost echo like effect that they have is perfect. Watching the video only makes it sound better. It reminds me of dreams I have and I know I'll be hearing this song in my dreams... Ha!

Sheila Put The Knife Down - Junior Prom

This song sounds chill. While it mostly stays calm, the parts where Mark Solomich gets more pumped up is fun. Guess he gets more pumped up since Sheila gets a little bit more likely to become stabby. Does anyone else find this song a little bit too relatable? I've said some stupid stuff. And people have taken jokes way too seriously. Some people just like to be mad though. The music video isn't that original or exciting but it's fun. I decided to feature this song mostly because I was talking about it with a talented musician friend of mine. He happened to be holding a ukulele and was playing it so why would I not choose this song when I know I love it? Also, while researching the lyrics for this song, I came across a normal lyric website that I've been on plenty of times where people can post what they think the lyrics are about, and some genius had gone on there and written the best interpretations that sure gave me a laugh and I feel it is worth a look.

If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor) - Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.

This song starts out sounding like a lullaby but then the electronic mix sets in with an intro before that great chorus starts up. The song isn't too fast paced yet it does sound high energy and does as we'll belong on the Dancefloor. The lyrics for the whole song are all entirely about how there's no point to going someplace that has a Dancefloor and not using it. It's not noise! It's music! Dance to it! I dare you! The video is comedic with the introduction of the two idiot cop's banter. Introductions in music videos are only acceptable if they're good, otherwise it's annoying and feels like another add Youtube put up to keep me away from hearing a song. The idea of the video is pretty cute and creative and I applaud the musicians and dancers for probably having to sit around and let themselves get painted for quite awhile so good for them! I'm going to post a lyric video for the song as well in case you think the beginning is too long or do not like it overlapping the song for the first few seconds. Or in case you want to sing along. Go ahead. I don't judge here.
