Beta Love - Ra Ra Riot

Ra Ra Riot is killing me with this song! This falsetto is fabulous! I heard it a couple of days ago and I can't help but keep playing it. Be warned, my initial reaction to it was "what the heck?" But it seems to be addictive... The meaning behind this song is pretty cool. It runs along a Sci-fi theme but questions whether robots can fall in love. Also, even though they're Beta, a prototype form, they love each other and are invested in the relationship even though one day they will probably move on to their Alpha, final relationship. But when your Beta breaks up with you, please stop texting them. Not every day. And sure as heck not months after they told you that they never want to hear from you again because you're annoying and clingy. Texting them so much without a reply makes you look pathetic and clueless even though your clue was spelled out for you. Yes, that seems to be a public service announcement.

Reverse - Somekindawonderful

Reverse by Somekindawonderful is the song of the day today because it has a good rhythmic drum beat and catchy lyrics. My only complaint for lyrics is the line: "I'm tantalized by their legs and long hair," because I always end up thinking of hairy legs. That may just be me though. Today is the day they premiered their music video! So go ahead and be hipster and watch it before everyone else does. To me, it looks like someone was smoking weed or something in a room full of butterflies and this is what they saw.

Album of the Week - Torches - Foster the People

The album of the week is Torches by Foster the People. This is their first album that came out in 2011 after Pumped Up Kicks came out the year before and made them popular over the internet. Foster The People's catchy and unique techno sound is flaunted in this great album. While Pumped Up Kicks and Don't Stop (Color On the Walls) are both popular and great songs on the album, I will have to say that I could listen to Broken Jaw all day on repeat.

And this album is available on iTunes!

Red Hands - Walk Off the Earth

This is a great song because it feels like it switches into a calm acoustic tune that speeds up into an edgy dance song. It's such a great balance that I want to say someone took a deck of cards from a slow song and shuffled them with a dance mix and this is what the product was. The music video looks like a lot of fun and a lot of glitter.

Not Your Fault - AWOLNATION

This song is nice because it's smooth yet also yelling in your face. The tempo is nice with a good drum beat and catchy electro tune. The lyrics are clever and could be interpreted as a crazy guy telling someone that every time they yell at them, that it should not be taken personally. This could be taken as inspiration, that not everything is your fault. But let's get real, whatever it is, it's probably your fault. I have no idea how to sum up the video though, except to say that it is worth a watch.

Giants - Bear Hands

Every time this song comes on, I just want to dance. I love how the beginning sounds soft but then just breaks into a strong and rapid beat with a clever rap. This sounds like an unconventional love song being sung by a daring guy who's "never been to jail 'cus [he] never get[s] caught". That is probably one of the best lyrics in the whole song. He repeats how much he loves her just to convince her that she is not a chore and that this love keeps him awake "from dusk till dawn". The video is pretty cool. The first time I saw it, I couldn't look away just because it was so fast. It definitely gives the feel of one crazy party. So for the weekend coming up, I hope yours is as fun as this video. Unless you hate parties. Then I guess this would be like watching a nightmare for you.

Hit and Run - LoLo

Hit and Run is the new single that just came out on iTunes on August eleventh. This song is great because it is a song you can really dance to with a catchy beat. It's a bad ass song that I suggest to use to pump yourself up to tackle a day and beat its face into the ground because your outfit is on point and you're all dressed up for a Hit and Run. LoLo has a great voice that stays strong throughout the song. You may recognize her voice from the song Miss Jackson by Panic! at the Disco. As of right now, she is on tour with New Politics, Paramore and Fall Out Boy. If you are planning on getting tickets to the Monument Tour, I suggest it. She has a great on stage presence when she sings Miss Jackson with New Politics.

Broken Jaw - Foster The People

Our Song of the Day is Broken Jaw which is also on this week's Album of the Week by Foster The People. It's the song of the day because of its awesome beat that sounds like fun. It gives me the feeling that you could have a dance party and only play this song on repeat and people would have a hard time trying to getting tired of it.

Intro Post

Welcome to Fried Bebop. Here, I'll just post favorite songs of the day semi-daily and alternate between band of the week and album of the week. I am just a huge lover of music and writing so why not combine the two? I also play the guitar but I'm mostly a closet musician since I wouldn't really play in front of people. Since I mostly listen to Alternative, that is mostly what you will find featured on this site so please check back if you are hoping to find something new. If I make any mistakes or you would like to suggest music or maybe even just want to send a comment, feel free to email me at friedbebop@gmail.com .
