Little Numbers - BOY

This song is adorable. It's adorable and also relatable to those people out there who actually have souls yet do not have a boyfriend, girlfriend, bae, etc.... But i think her voice is sweet and it sounds a bit classic with the tambourine in the background. There's also an acoustic version as well! It is not that much different but it does sound even more adorable if that's your thing! The music video is swell because it's just the girls running around and having a good time.

(Everything Is) Debatable - Hellogoodbye

This chorus is absolutely amazing! I only heard this song the other night by chance but I loved it within the first second! I love the lyrics and the singer sounds great even though it is not the easiest to understand but the almost echo like effect that they have is perfect. Watching the video only makes it sound better. It reminds me of dreams I have and I know I'll be hearing this song in my dreams... Ha!

Sheila Put The Knife Down - Junior Prom

This song sounds chill. While it mostly stays calm, the parts where Mark Solomich gets more pumped up is fun. Guess he gets more pumped up since Sheila gets a little bit more likely to become stabby. Does anyone else find this song a little bit too relatable? I've said some stupid stuff. And people have taken jokes way too seriously. Some people just like to be mad though. The music video isn't that original or exciting but it's fun. I decided to feature this song mostly because I was talking about it with a talented musician friend of mine. He happened to be holding a ukulele and was playing it so why would I not choose this song when I know I love it? Also, while researching the lyrics for this song, I came across a normal lyric website that I've been on plenty of times where people can post what they think the lyrics are about, and some genius had gone on there and written the best interpretations that sure gave me a laugh and I feel it is worth a look.

If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor) - Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.

This song starts out sounding like a lullaby but then the electronic mix sets in with an intro before that great chorus starts up. The song isn't too fast paced yet it does sound high energy and does as we'll belong on the Dancefloor. The lyrics for the whole song are all entirely about how there's no point to going someplace that has a Dancefloor and not using it. It's not noise! It's music! Dance to it! I dare you! The video is comedic with the introduction of the two idiot cop's banter. Introductions in music videos are only acceptable if they're good, otherwise it's annoying and feels like another add Youtube put up to keep me away from hearing a song. The idea of the video is pretty cute and creative and I applaud the musicians and dancers for probably having to sit around and let themselves get painted for quite awhile so good for them! I'm going to post a lyric video for the song as well in case you think the beginning is too long or do not like it overlapping the song for the first few seconds. Or in case you want to sing along. Go ahead. I don't judge here.

Band of the Week - Passion Pit

Passion Pit is a band I've been listening to for quite awhile since my brother had bought their CD, Manners, when it first came out. I love their whole electronic mix sound with the high pitch voices. Their beat is almost constantly fast paced which makes it great music to pump up to. You may have heard them from Sleepyhead or Take a Walk. Usually, I would suggest songs of theirs to listen to, and I do suggest The Reeling and Little Secrets but really, I suggest the whole Manners album. I like how they do have a few songs that instead of being made into remixes, they make stripped down versions which is the version without all the electronic sounds and layovers. It's interesting because I did always wonder what the singer, Michael Angelakos, would sound like with only his voice. The first EP, Chunk of Change, was actually mostly written by him on his laptop. The first four songs, including Sleepyhead, were written for his girlfriend at the time.

Breezeblocks - Alt-J

This song is so dark. And really, can anyone else tell what Gus Unger-Hamilton is saying at all? There's a few lines here and there but then the rest is just a mumbling sound. The music video is also very gloomy but when you watch it, it does feel like you're watching a movie it looks so good. That ending though! Not going to give any spoilers... The lyrics are very fitting of the video if you're going to decide to look it up and just pretend that those are a narration for the video. Also, if you'd like to hear more, WALK THE MOON did about a thirty second acoustic cover of the song that was absolutely adorable! You can see it on their Instagram which is @walkthemoonband .

Hot Tonight - Tokyo Police Club

The chorus of this song is delightful and I love that its not an aggressive song. It's just good. It's smooth, especially with Dave Monk's calm voice. What really makes the song is that even paced guitar tune by Josh Hook. The video is actually pretty cool and adorable. It definitely looks like it had been made by a squad of adorable game-loving geeks so it's quite fitting for the band.

Dark Again - Gold Fields

This song has a great drum beat with a catchy chorus and tune. Even though it's title is dark and the music video seems demonic, this song doesn't actually seem too dark to me which is perfectly fine. Most likely because there wasn't any screaming involved. The lyrics are actually pretty deep and poetic, connecting their meanings to darker thoughts and images with a cool sound. Gold Fields is an Australian band with a mostly dark theme, yet their sound has a quick tempo which makes for a really cool sound.

Shut Up and Dance - WALK THE MOON

I actually first heard this song at one of their concerts. Ever since then, I have been itching to get it! And now, it finally came out last week on iTunes! Now I can listen to more than the same thirty seconds that had been recorded in video on my phone! They perform this song and all of their other songs very well live with their very exciting and high energy performance. Whenever I show a clip to one of my friends of them performing she says "That guy on the keyboard needs to calm down." But nah! Keep dancing, Nicholas Pettrica!

Album of The Week - Atlas Genius - When It Was Now

This week's album of the week is When It Was Now by Atlas Genius. The songs on this album are chill with their singer, Keith Jeffery's voice only adding to the sound instead of taking over the song. Their most popular songs off this album are Trojans and If So. If you liked these songs, you will be pleased with the rest of their album as well. I suggest listening to Through the Glass and Don't Make a Scene.

Everywhere I Go (Kings and Queens) - New Politics

This song premiered last Tuesday and you are missing out if you haven't heard it yet! It's a rock song that isn't too heavy to handle for those people who don't feel like listening to intense music. It does have a slight "f*** you" to society but the boys in New Politics twisted it so that it is up lifting. It's definitely worth a listen since you will be humming it all day!

Band of the Week - The Wombats

The Band of the Week is The Wombats. The Wombats are a great band because they have their own sound that is fantastic. Their sound seems to mostly come from their unique guitar and base sounds mostly by Tord Øverland Knudsen that they have through most of their songs which seems to be their signature sound. The beat by their drummer and keyboardist Daniel Haggis is great as well. Since they have their own sound, some of their songs can be seen as sounding similar but not in a way that anyone would get tired of them but in a way that you are almost assured that if you like one of their songs, that you should like almost every song they have. If you were listening to their lyrics, you'd hear some hilarious stories in songs such as Backfire At The Disco and Kill The Director and also many clever and deep lyrics that one may want to take note of if looking for something deep to get tattooed on themselves. But they are also a pretty serious band (as you can possibly tell by a lot of their pictures). "In the middle of the songs we'd break into uncontrollable sobbing. The idea was not to be funny," says lead singer Matthew Murphy. That makes me feel guilty about laughing at some of their lyrics earlier today... The lead singer is great because he sounds smooth and also his accent can be heard strongly through all his songs which makes him stand out a bit compared to many other singers whose accents disappear in their singing voice. Also, I love all the flowers on Matthew Murphy's guitar. They are adorable and I completely love that it's a guy's guitar. Along with their popular songs Let's Dance To Joy Division and Jump Into The Fog, I suggest you try Girls/ Fast Cars, Our Perfect Disease, Anti-D and Kill The Director.
